NxGEN Carbide Die Sets for Handgun Cartridges
The evolution of perfection - they’re just better!
Two types of die sets are available.
The conventional three (3) die set includes the NxGEN carbide sizing die (NX-C), the expander die (EXP) and the standard bullet seating die (ST) with built in crimp.
The Pro Series Die Set (designed for progressive machines) includes the NxGEN carbide sizing die (NX-C) but does not include an expander die (EXP) because most popular progressive machines expand the case mouth at the powder drop station.
A special seating die (PRO ST) is supplied with a large entry radius but does not provide bullet crimpingability. This set is a lso supplied with a specialized bullet crimping die (CR). See chart below to determine Profile Crimp or Taper Crimp.
Although designed specifically for progressive reloading, Pro series die sets also work exceptional- ly well with single stage presses if an expander die is purchaseds eparately. The best possible handloads can be attained by crimping after the bullet has been seated in place.
NxGEN Competition Pro Series Die Sets
With Competition Bullet Seating Die
The NxGEN Competition Pro Series (3) die set includes the NxGEN Carbide Sizing Die (NX-C), Profile Crimp Die (CR) or Taper Crimp Die if the cartridge headspace is on the case mouth, and the Competition Bullet Seating Die (COMP ST) see page 3. This die set is designed for progressive reloading machines and those seeking the best possible bullet alignment.
No Expander Die (EXP) is supplied with this set as most popular progressive machines expand the case mouth at the powder drop station.
Premium Die Sets for Handgun Cartridges
Designed for Utility, Precision, and High Production
The Premium Die Set for Handgun Cartridges consists of a three (3) die set which contains thefollowing; our NxGEN Carbide Sizing Die, a unique Special Expander Die and a Premium Seating Die with our (Std) Bullet Seating Micrometer.
All dies have a large entry taper/radius for easy case entry and high production. The unique design of the special expander performs four distinct functions. The smooth entry radius is followed by the correct expanding diameter for proper press fit of the bullets. The upper section of the expanding diameter has a concentric ring which opens the case mouth slightly larger than bullet diameter to enhance bullet alignment. The final taper can provide a “bellmouth” on the case mouth when desired, usually when using lead bullets.
